Aldar Community Centre

Volunteers are welcome

About twenty volunteers keep the sessions going. If you can give a regular hour, the centre would like to hear from you.

Volunteers setting out chairs in the hall

Around twenty volunteers keep the centre running week to week. They set up rooms, greet people at the door, help with homework club, make tea, and stay behind to put the hall back together at the end of the evening.

What helps most

  • A regular hour at the same time each week

  • Welcoming people as they arrive

  • Staying to the end of a session

No experience is needed. The team will show you how a session runs, and you will always be working alongside someone who has done it before. Speak to the centre if you would like to try a session and see how it feels.
